July 2026
Group each marriage's children visually so it's obvious which child belongs to which partner.
Jul 10, 2026
Changes applied seconds before closing the tab/browser sometimes miss the autosave window (observed twice in automated testing: a religion setting and a non-practicing toggle both reverted). Likely fix: flush-save on beforeunload/visibilitychange.

You are already using layers, which is good. In case of complex graphs it is useful to be able to use color rectangles for the background to visually separate large chunks of subtrees. It should be selectable from the bottom menu with a color and easily drawn and moved like the bulk selection tool. It should appear always as bottom layer, never on top. Should be able to switch it on and off like the other layers. Not difficult to implement, but very useful.

Similar to the "Medical Condition" feature without adding a medical condition, a colouring possibility would be nice. That should colour in the same way quarter of the node box area, but without assigning any "condition" or description.

I do not know if there is much practical use of the class label with the dollar sign. If there is, the marker on the nodes should not be a differently coloured dollar sign but instead one to four condensed (overlapping) dollar signs so the wealth could be grasped by more easily. Who remembers, which coloured dollar has the meaning of more or less wealth? No-one and it would result a orchid greenhouse look of the board with so many different colours rather than a visually appealing, aesthetically designed genogram. The recommended visual is commonly used on tripadvisor or other restaurant and booking platforms to indicate the pricier services: $..$$..$$$....$$$$ (probably a condensed 3 signs is sufficient here, no?)

The dash date separator makes it a bit confusing look 1999-01-01 - 2022-01-01 , moreover many countries do NOT use dash as a separator, so visually it is not a generally accepted standard. Dot or slash would make more distinct look, and both would save some space. 1999.01.01-2012.02.02. or 1999/01/01 etc. At least could be an option for the huge board. Thx

When a religion is selected, an optional non-practicing toggle renders the faith badge with a dashed container ring + (non-practicing) label suffix — one mechanism for lapsed/cultural affiliation across every faith (came from a real request for a jack-Mormon symbol).
Jul 10, 2026
There are quite a consensus over the symbols of various religions. For example Catholicism a simple cross would do, thicker. Thinner for reformed-evangelican. The Jewish faith uses a David star not a 5 pointed star- that is communism/socialism. Orthodox christian faith is missing (affected: all of Russian, Balkan countries, Greece, etc.). Usually a more decorated cross would do. This area of the program needs urgent reworking, because some people may even find these inaccuracies offensive...
Jul 10, 2026
Please add a date option (from-to) to the occupation. Thx
Jul 10, 2026
Currently only the "location" can be displayed on the genogram next (below) to the birth date. However the place of birth should be optionally displayed under birthplace (a simple checkbox would do next to the entry field). This would allow better mapping and visualization of ancestors. Thx
Jul 10, 2026
Hiding a family group had no way back — hidden groups were gone for good. There is now a "show hidden groups" eye button (with a count) next to the Family Groups toggle in the toolbar that brings them all back.
Jul 10, 2026
In case age at death is filled in in the vital data section and no birthdate or exact date of death is given, this age at death should appear in the middle deceased genogram symbol. However it should not take preference if the age is calculated from proper birth-death date pairs both known exactly.
Jul 10, 2026
Adding a child in the tree to a deceased person who has died over 100 years ago, child default should be deceased too (was born obviously on or before the death of parent, so general rule of older than 100 applies)
Jul 10, 2026
Alternate name should appear below normal name in brackets. Eg. William Great (The Conqueror)
Jul 10, 2026
Currently if the cause of death field contains data it is also displayed on the genogram. That should (must) be optional. Most of these data is recorded for historical purposes, most of the people want to see their ancestors "normally", without all that sickness if possible. It should be an option.
Jul 10, 2026
Maiden name also should appear in brackets if the field is not empty
Jul 10, 2026
When pressing the home icon (genogramai) when editing, in clinical mode a save is offered which is nice. However, after the save is done, the only option is "stay", and "leave without backup" which is incorrect because one just saved a file and that window should disappear after indicating a successful save and forwarding to the initial goal - to home. :)
