Sharing a Link, Publishing & the Community Gallery

Publish a view-only link anyone can open without signing in, embed it on a website, or share a genogram in the Community gallery.

Share publishes a view-only copy of your genogram at a link anyone can open, with no sign-in. Click Share at the top right of the editor (it's also in the File menu, and under More on phones).

Publish a link

  1. Click Share. If the genogram hasn't been saved yet, you're asked to save it first.
  2. In Publish genogram, give it a Title.
  3. Under Who can find it, choose People with the link (only people you send it to) or Community gallery (anyone can discover and copy it).
  4. Click Publish. Copy the Public link, open it, or copy the Embed code to put it on a website.

Published copies are not encrypted

Anyone with the link sees every name, date, note and condition. Don't publish client records unless you set a password. If the genogram contains medical information, you'll be asked to confirm before it goes live. For a private copy to send, use Export image with Anonymize instead.

Link controls (Pro)

  • Password (optional): viewers must enter it to open the link.
  • Block copying as a template
  • Block PNG export

Pro users also see a view count on published genograms.

Change or remove a published genogram

Click Share again to open Manage publication. Use Edit settings and Save changes to update it, or Unpublish to take it down; the link stops working immediately.

The Community gallery

The Community page (Dashboard sidebar) holds genograms shared by clinicians, students and researchers: teaching examples, family structures, famous and historical families. Open one to view it, or click Use template to copy it into your own workspace as a starting point (it counts toward your genogram limit).

To share one of yours, choose Community gallery when publishing, add up to 3 tags, and confirm. You can also tick Also feature it on genogramai.com to give it its own page that can show up in Google, which suits teaching or famous-family examples. Only share made-up, famous or fully anonymized families, never client records.
